![]() The Termination of RightsThe birth parent(s) may select an attorney or the agency will assist in locating an attorney. Once the legal documents are filed with the court, a hearing is set, which the birth parent(s) must attend. The adoptive parent(s) are present only at the invitation of the birth parent(s). The termination of parental rights is a termination of all rights, without the right of appeal. It is final, definite and cannot be revoked. Any financial assistance provided through the agency is made known to the court and continues for six weeks after the birth of the child, if needed. Previous page: The Birth |
